Katie is a professional swing dancer, the couple met at a swing club, and they have a love for all things vintage, so a vintage-inspired love shoot was so perfect for them. And, appropriately, the brothers Wright used their awesome multitude of vintage cameras to capture it all…

Say photographers Brian and Brandon Wright: The location for these photos is just down the road from Katie and Jeff’s new place in Pasadena, at Eaton Canyon. It was quite a challenge hiking to the falls, crossing the river over a dozen times, but it was well worth it. There were actually over 100 people watching us shoot, but somehow we managed to have a lot of fun with it and still pull it off. Pretty much everything you see is vintage 1930s, 40s and 50s, from Katie’s swimsuit to Jeff’s bow tie.
Oh my, the location is incredible! I love all these images but especially the waterfall ones. You don’t see many waterfalls in love shoots.

Thanks for all the kind words! We love our clients, and pulling from their unique personalities to have fun with photography. We shot about a dozen rolls of film, half a pack of Polaroid 669 and a few 4x5s, with our twin lens reflexes, Pentax67, and Polaroid cameras. The first square B&W photo was shot with an antique Brownie 127 lens that we hacked into a lens for our Mamiya C300.
We love film! No fun hipstamatic effect could ever take it’s place.

An e-shoot with a waterfall is amazing, but add to that a polka dot sundress and matching outfits, and gorgeous is the appropriate word.
