French Country Luncheon

Today, a lovely tablescape with a little French country flair. My sweet friend Janie Medley, the lovely lady behind JM Flora Design and The Bride’s Cafe, teamed up with Lynn Lindsay from Sunshowers and Rainshine Designs and photographer Jodi Miller to create this deliciously rustic table.

Burlap table runners, pewter plates, and Laguiole knives – all key elements in creating the French country look. Match Pewter makes similar plates.

fruit cheese bread

Figs and cheese become part of the centerpiece when placed under a glass cloche.

purple flowers

Janie filled vintage glass bottles and jars with dahlias, blackberries, and scabiosa, and ran hanging amaranthus along the burlap table runners.

bread and pear

It wouldn’t be a French-inspired table without the rustic bread and red pears.

bud vases

Other flowers on the table were billy balls, succulents, bupleurum, and green ornamental cabbages in a wire basket.

Now THIS is beautiful. Really, truly, pretty. I’m having burlap runners for my own wedding…in 31 days! eeek! Instead of using burlap in it’s “country” sense, I’m using it with modern black and white.
If I were to do country though, this is EXACTLY how I’d want it done. Kudos to all involved. And thank goodness the photographer didn’t cover those gorgeous photos with tinted actions that ruin the natural colors.

I love the croquembouche ! Have thought about having one on the dessert table for my daughter’s wedding, in addition to the wedding cake.
