Confession: paper goods are what made me really fall in love with weddings. If we’re talking pretty details, printed items are probably my favorite of all, with a special place in my heart for letterpress. One of my favorite suites ever (the Zoe suite) was designed by Victoria at Milkfed Press, and has been included in several of my inspiration boards. In the Spring of 1962 there was an article written about an army couple in San Francisco’s Lover’s Lane. The photo of the couple was epic! I mean we’ve all seen the famous sailor kiss at Time’s Square, but this photo, it exemplifies true love, respect, and bliss. What the article does not go on to say is that by that summer, the new couple were married. They went on to have three sons, move to Vegas and start a life together! 50 years later they are still in Las Vegas, they have 5 grandchildren… To this day my Papa will start to sing I left my heart in San Francisco at random, and every time we have a family breakfast I will sneak off to the memory box containing the article of how two young lovers started this family I am so very blessed to be a part of!
My sister and I are planning a SURPRISE 50 Year Anniversary party. Yesterday I spent 6 hours attempting to customize an invitation that would do their love story justice…. But I believe that ‘Louis’ is just the one!
